My participation in the CCI training programme has had a significant impact on my life, both a human being and as an educator. It has helped me transcend the boundary between what I know (intellectually) and what I understand (or get). My 'getting' has left me feeling empowered to transform my own life, as well as the lives of the children and the parents I interact with on a daily basis. I have done this by helping develop my skills, distinctions and understandings which enable to me to be an effective educator. I am more aware of the relationship between who I am being and the things which are going on around me. This means that I can be present, responsive and engaged with the people I work with. My ability to 'see' and to 'get' what is occuring in my enviroment, supports my ability to have powerful conversations. This in turn supports my ability to have a positive impact on my environment. My biggest learning from doing the CCI training programme, which has impacted me as a teacher, is that I am less reactive. I am more aware of the children in my space and more present to what they are experiencing. This empowers me to be more objective within my space and take things less personally. In this way things have become less about meeting my needs within the classroom and more about empowering the children. I am able to hold spaces of unhappiness and anger for the children without feeling I need to fix the problem or make things better. This supports the children in expressing and experiencing a myriad of emotions and working through them, instead of feeling pressurized to always be happy or content. It helps them to grow and mature and to be authentic. I am now aware that there are unlimited possibilities for me and the children; all we need to do is begin to create them together! I have powerful conversations with children about anger. My personal beliefs around anger have shifted to more constructive and less judgemental attitudes. Having the tools to shift children's relationship to their anger and have the conversations about, "What else can we do when we are angry." I have started to create the space for children to shift their beliefs and judgements of themselves and step into a space of being pro-active and creating what works for them. Since I have started with my CCI Master courses, I became aware of how I've been conscious of my weaknesses and inabilities and how I have been living my life by that code. It was mind blowing and shocking awakenings for me. My life has changed ever since I did CCI. I am for the first time able to experience this power that was latent within me for such a long time. I found the tools to connect with it through CCI and have been living my life POWERFULLY in all aspects. I have been on a high ever since. CCI is the best!!! Thank you. Doing CCI Master 1 has challenged my awareness. I spend a lot of time reflecting on situations, how I approached them and how I could possibly view them in a different context to achieve a different outcome. I am much more aware of my own story, assumptions and interpretation. A big challenge for me has been my integrity: facing where I fall short and putting into place actions that will support me in being my word. Through these challenges, I have grown as a person. I am grateful that I was introduced to CCI by Synergy Schooling because I am conscious in the way that I'm doing things. I am glad that I am not conditioned to be somebody else but to be comfortable under my skin and celebrate my greatness. The awareness that the coaching created for me makes me to be more responsible as I created a context to be my word. I believe in myself more because I know that the power is in me to do all the things that I choose, no one will come and save me from my resignation but me. The power is in me and I am glad that I am stepping out of the victim mode and deal powerfully with the things that come my way. A lot of things opened up for me as soon as I realised that I'm not living my life to the fullest because I wasn't unlocking my hidden potential. Coming from a powerful stand helps me to support the children in my class to unlock their hidden potentials too. It is when you are so positive that you become productive. Children can just get your positive way of doing things and they can take from you. Vuyo Madlingozi, Grade 3 & 4 Assistant, Xhosa Teacher |
